In order to carry an unwilling creature you have to grapple it first, your speed is then limited to half your normal speed, regardless of how much the creature (s) weigh. The grappling rules say nothing about the weight of the creature. Only size is mentioned. So when riding a single horse, you choose your pace just as if you were walking on your own and that is the distance that can be traveled - because while a horse is faster over short distances, they don't have the endurance to sustain great enough speed for long enough periods of time to out-pace a human over the 8-hour traveling day.The thread was great, I learned about palfreys and relays, etc. My scenario is a little different. Not a single horse/rider scenario, but a team and carriage. My best guess is that a team of two horses pulling a carriage with four people might travel ~ a few miles per hour. Personally I'd say a cart could only be pulled by one animal whereas a wagon could be pulled by two or more. AC is the vehicle's floor space, in terms of 5ft square spaces, divided by 5. So, for instance, a cart with dimensions 40ft × 60ft has a floor space of 8 × 12, or 96, 5x5 spaces. Dividing by 5 results in 19 (round down from 19.2), giving that vehicle 19AC.
